TISSNET 2022 Exam: Dates, Registrations, Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation
What is TISSNET?
Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai conducts TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET). It is a national level entrance exams conducted for admission to MA programmes in the School of Management and Labour Studies. The MA programmes offered at TISS campuses are at par with the management programmes offered by top MBA colleges in India. TISS will announce the exam dates for TISSNET 2022 tentatively in November 2021. TISSNET 2022 exam is expected to be held in February 2022. The entrance exam is held in online mode and the exam paper comprises questions from English Proficiency, Mathematical Skills & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. Previous year, TISSNET exam was conducted in online remote proctored mode due to the pandemic. Candidates will be notified for the mode of examination.
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) offers 52 Master’s Degree programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses and other locations for the 2021-2023 batch. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any of the two campuses indicating the order of preference. The merit list will be prepared based on the preferences given by the candidate in the application form.
Candidates applying to the 2021-23 batch for the Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes of TISS needs to take the TISS National Entrance Test (TISS-NET) 2021. It will be held on 20th February 2021 from 2 pm to 3.40 pm in 40 Cities.
Candidates applying for the Flagship programs of TISS Mumbai, i.e., (i) MA Human Resource Management & Labor Relations (HRM &LR) and (ii) MA Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL) – will have a Management Aptitude Test (TISS-MAT) conducted along with TISS-NET for 50 marks for a duration of 45 mins. The score for TISS-MAT will be added to the PAT score of the shortlisted candidates while preparing the final score for the selection.

TISSNET 2021 Cutoff
TISSNET cut offs for MA (HRM) and MA (ODCL) is expected to stay in the 69-72 range marks. Though TISS does not have sectional cut off in any section except GK, where at least 35% (14 marks out of 40 marks) is required.
- General Awareness: 25-27
- English Proficiency: 27-28
- Maths and Logical Reasoning: 23-25
- Total: 70-75
The cut off score varies from subject to subject. It also depends on the number of seats available in each course in each campus. The number of candidates appearing for the exam each year is also a factor. You can have a look at previous years’ cut off marks to have a fair idea of what to expect in TISSNET 2021.
TISSNET 2021 Counselling Process
The national written entrance exam is just the first round for selection in TISS. You also need to appear for Pre Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds to get finally qualified. These admission rounds of TISSNET will be held separately for each campus of TISS. It is only after all these rounds are completed that the TISS authorities will come up with the final selection list. Your final score will be based on your performance in all the rounds.

Applicants will also need to produce all requisite documents at the time of admission. You need to carry both your original documents as well as attested copies of the same. After your documents are verified, the TISS authorities will require you to clear a medical check up before you are allowed admission.

TISSNET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
In order to fulfil eligibility for TISSNET 2022, a candidate needs to fulfil the below mentioned criteria:
- All candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree course with at least 50% marks of 3 to 4 years duration from a university recognized by the government.
- All candidates must be authorized citizens of India and at least 21 years before the exam. There is no upper age limit.
- All candidates must have education of 10+2+3/4. Candidates who have studied more than undergraduate degree are also eligible for application.
- All candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree on or before June 11, 2021.
- Students appearing for their final exam in undergraduate degree can also appear for TISSNET, provided that they can fulfil the criteria within a limited time period.
