The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices.
SSC CGL is considered to be one of the biggest examinations to be conducted for graduate students in India.
SSC CGL 2021 will be a great opportunity for students looking forward for a position in the reputed organisations under the central government.
The exam is held in four stages called Tiers. While the first two are online the latter two are offline exams.
SSC CGL 2021-22 application form:
The online application process started on December 29, 2020 and it will continue till January 31, 2021.
SSC CGL 2021-22 exam dates:
The SSC CGL 2021 tier I exam date is May 29, to June 7, 2021.
The dates for Tier-II, III, IV will be notified soon.
SSC CGL 2021-22 selection process:
SSC CGL selection process will be conducted in four stages known as tires.
Candidates must qualify each stage of the SSC CGL exam to proceed to the next one, before being finally selected
- Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
- Tier-II: Computer Based Examination
- Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
- Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test or Pen and Paper ( depends).
Structure of the Exam
Tier 1 is the Preliminary Exam. It consists of 100 questions of 200 marks, 25 each from GK, Maths, English and Logical Reasoning. The main aim of this section is to select some 1–1.5 lakh top aspirants from a vast pool of 30+ lakh applicants. Yes, marks are counted for final merit.
Tier 2 is the Main stage where the real competition starts. It is the battle of getting into top ranks. 400 marks are up for grabs. It is a game changer.

SSC CGL 2021-22 Essential Qualifications for various posts –
I) Assistant Audit Officer:
a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute
b) Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
II) Statistical Investigator Grade- II:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level:
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
III) Compiler:
Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics
or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
IV) All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
